    About Us

    Our History
USIT School Tours is regulated by the Commission for Aviation Regulation and our Tour Operator license number is 0660. We’re members of IATA and the Irish Travel Agents Association. Our team is based in the USIT building on Dublin’s Aston Quay.

Just over 30 years ago, in 1985, we started out in business as a small company organising group tours, mostly for schools. Back then we were known as Budget School & Groups Tours (and more recently as COGO Travel). We soon became Ireland’s leader in organising school tours and in 2007, we were snapped up by USIT Ireland. Indeed, many of us have very fond memories of USIT from our student days as they are Ireland’s best-known student travel operator.

For many years we were asked why we didn’t just simply call our schools business USIT. So, this year, we have finally decided to simplify matters and rename our school brand COGO Travel as USIT School Tours.

Everything else about USIT School Tours remains the same, if not better, not least our continued commitment to offer the very best quality and best priced educational and cultural tours in the market.

Feel free to call, email or drop into us to discuss your group’s travel plans, we’re here to help get you on your way.

    The Team
We believe it’s important to put a face to the name you work with over the phone. We’re a mix of tour advisors, tour planners, marketing and product development gurus and we all have at least one thing in common… a great love of travel!

    Gerry Bergin

    Tour Advisor Team Leader

Gerry has worked in the travel business for almost 40 years, nearly half of those in school travel. Motivated by a genuine desire to provide the best possible service and value for money for his many client’s country wide, Gerry has a keen interest in any tour with a historical aspect. “We’ve teamed up with some history teachers to develop our range of history tours & it’s great to see the relevance that these tours have to the subject that’s taught in the class. From my own experience, it’s always best to visit places to gain a better understanding and that’s what all our tours are about.”

    Paula Usher

    Tour Advisor

Paula worked with us while finishing her degree in Tourism Management over seven years ago. Being able to combine her studies with the practical aspects of working with USIT School Tours gave her a great understanding of how the industry works. This now benefits all of Paula’s teachers who book their tour with her each year, you’d be hard pushed to find someone more efficient & detailed. “I love getting to know my teachers & working with them each year. Developing that relationship gives me a good picture of the type of tour they’re after & I’m able to make sure they get what they want.”

    Stephanie O’Connor

    Tour Advisor

With 18 years’ experience, Stephanie has worked with hundreds of teachers. As a mother of three children herself, she realises the importance of safety on school tours, but also understands the benefits of learning outside the classroom. Whether it’s skiing in Andorra or exploring Berlin on a history tour, Stephanie’s knowledge of these destinations is hard to beat. “I’ve seen my own daughter develop personally & create good relationships among her peers having gone on school tours, so it’s great to be able to bring that same experience to hundreds of students each year.”

    Ann Marie Cusack

    Tour Advisor

Ann Marie is all about hospitality & tourism having worked in the industry for more than 20 years. Ann Marie’s strength is that she’s worked on both sides of the school tour business, preparing quotes for teachers, but also co-ordinating the tours. Her in-depth knowledge of the entire process of organising a school tour makes the process simple and efficient for her teachers. “I like to make a teacher’s life as easy as possible when they’re organising their school tour. Their lives are busy enough as it is with school workloads. But everyone agrees the effort is always worth it in the end!”

    Silvia Ferraro

    Operations Manager

Silvia hails from Italy and has been leading our team of Tour Co-ordinators for over seven years now. It’s little wonder that Italy is one of our most popular school tour destinations….when you have someone as passionate as Silvia is about her home country her enthusiasm is infectious. While meticulous in her tour planning detail (which can’t be underestimated), Silvia still applies great creative flare to tours. “I always try to seek out interesting, new, and relevant visits for my groups. I love hearing from my tour leaders on their return home when they’re full of excitement having just experienced a different side to a destination that they may have visited many times.”

    Joanna Mussett

    Tour Co-ordinator

Having worked many years for a large school tour operator in the UK, Joanna moved back to Ireland and joined the USIT School Tours team in Dublin. Her wealth of knowledge has been of great benefit to her groups. Joanna has a passion for educational travel and ensures that the tours she organises have real relevance for students. “I love travelling myself and it’s great to share this passion with groups. I really believe that opening our eyes to the world around us is the best education available.”

    Maria Diaz Fanjul

    Tour Co-ordinator

In 2004, Maria made her way to Ireland as an Erasmus student and hasn’t left. She comes from the north west of Spain and has been working with student groups for over 13 years. “Having worked with student groups for a long time now I’ve got a good handle on what works for school groups! I’ve seen the benefits that travel has on students and it’s great to work with teachers to create these new learning experiences.”

    Diane Burke

    Tour Co-ordinator

Diane has over two decades of experience working in the travel and tourism industry from a sales and operational perspective. Her knowledge of tour destinations and customer care is exceptional. An avid fan of travelling herself, Diane gets into the detail of organising tours with great gusto. “It’s so rewarding when we get feedback from a group that has had a fantastic time on tour, to be part of an experience that creates lifelong memories is very special indeed.”

    Karen Quirke

    Tour Co-ordinator

A recent DIT Marketing graduate, Karen is a great addition to the USIT School Tours team having started initially in our Support Team and now as a fully-fledged Tour Co-ordinator. No stranger to travelling the globe herself, Karen’s boundless energy and attention-to-detail means she gives 110% to organising the best possible experience for student groups. “It’s a really big deal when a teacher leads a group of students on a tour, so I like to make sure that everything is planned really well, and well in advance!”

    Pommina Saladaga

    Support

Pommina hails from The Philippines originally but moved to Ireland in her early years. She’s a recent DIT Tourism graduate and now utilises her education and experience in supporting the smooth running of the administration in USIT School Tours. Eager to learn and great with people, no doubt Pommina has a long career in tourism ahead of her. “I really enjoy dealing with our customers and helping them with their enquiries. It’s a fascinating business to be working in and I’ve got such a great love of travel that this is the beginning of a really interesting journey for me!”
